Dancing for warmth while I wait

Dancing for warmth while I wait. Lithography ink on canvas, fan, and interval timer. Installed dimensions approximately 72 in by 15 in by 12 in. December 2021.

A fan sits dormant, angled directly upwards at a hanging strip of canvas emblazoned with the final imperative – THIS DO IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME. Once or twice an hour, the fan clicks on and breathes vibrant life into the canvas, causing it to dance in the air. Shortly after, the fan returns to stillness, as does the canvas. This dance mirrors intense moments of lucid memory and recollection followed by the deafening stillness of loss.
